Materials

Scrap piece of 2"x6"x8" long
Paint, your choice
Sandpaper
Spray adhesive
Ribbon
Thumbtack

Tools

Bandsaw, scroll saw or coping saw
3/8" drill bit
Paint brushes, small foam or bristle

Instructions

Use a power sander or hand sand the wood on both sides.

Make a copy of the pattern. After making a copy, cut around the outside edge of the pattern leaving a 1/4" to 1/2" of paper around the pattern lines.

Spray the pattern with spray adhesive. Let dry a few seconds and attach to the wood. Saw around outside lines and then remove pattern. Use mineral spirits to remove stubborn glue.

Sand with sandpaper to remove any imperfections.

Drill eight equally spaced 3/8" holes, one inch deep, in the top back of the dog.

Apply two coats of paint letting it dry between coats.
